Roll up! Roll up! Welcome to Melbourne and it’s record breaking 246 days of non consecutive days!
As of Monday the 4th October, we can beat the record the the city with most amount of days spent in lockdown, having just over taken Buenos Aires on 246 and also beating Dublin and London to round out the top four!
On face value, I think it’s safe to say it’s been physically, mentally and emotionally draining- just when you think we could get get back to some sort of “new normal”, it all goes “snap” and you’re quickly placed back in lockdown because of some stupid behaviour and/or the incompetence of the Victorian state government.
Let’s be honest- this isn’t really living is it? It’s just some form of existence really, like we’re in some sort of limbo where while it’s not the best it hasn’t been too bad (jury is still out with the current Delta this wave we’re experiencing in Melbourne
Daniel Andrews has said that we’re generally proceeding as to his stupid “plan” and that we generally won’t be going backwards- does anyone actually believe that?
Like everyone, I’m just trying to put one foot in front of another. I know this latest lockdown has changed me- for the good or the better I do not know. What hasn’t changed really is my attitude to people interrupting my reading team- especially when you’re trying to finish another book!
FRY- today I finished two books so hurrah (though one was good [a Welsh crime series with a gay detective which I’ll review shortly I think] and the other so so [an Australian gay themed sci-fi which was the third in a series which ended quite abruptly])
