So despite the terrible, strange and quite frankly bonkers time we currently find ourselves in, it’s important to realise that the world and the “everyday” things of “normal” life still go on around is despite the collective clusterfuck that is the years 2020 and 2021.
So with this in mind, I think it’s worth mentioning the fact that it’s never too late to celebrate the “normality” of everyday life and with this in mind I decided to just that before and dropped a little bit of money on buying some gifts that in everyday life would be used at a baby shower.
The fact that two awesome people are having a baby is absolutely amazing news and (not going to lie) I may have squealed in excitement when I was originally told the news. After all, bringing a new life into the world is such an amazing and joyous news and I knew these two people will be awesome parents (just call it a feeling!)
Anyway, at the risk of sounding clucky it’s amazing how brilliant it feels to buy stuff like that doesn’t it? I mean, yes the gifts are from the registry- which makes perfect sense because just looking at some of the prices made my jaw drop!- but that makes it easier for the parents to be. It’s also strangely addictive- based on the prices of the things I saw in the registry I could easily have spent over $500!
Yes, i wont deny it’s shamelessly capitalistic in nature and 100% totally materialistic, but at the end of the day is it such a bad thing to celebrate such joy for two (soon to be three!) awesome people in the world where on a daily basis there’s shite flying around left right and centre?
No.
Happiness and joy must be celebrated now even more so then ever before and I will always do it- because after all I’m genuinely a nice person who’s mostly optimistic. And nothing will ever change that!
