I love me some sci fi and this book is classic sci fi- for we have Blake Lewis and his paramedic partner Tommy get caught quite literally in an alien invasion of Washington D.C
After battling to survive, Blake and Tommy soon come across Gabriel Lennox and his band of private military team- they’ve been parachuted in to try to find out what actually happened, search for survivors and establish communications with the outside world; for when the aliens invade all communications were lost.
We pick up a few months shortly after Trigger Discipline, where Blake, Gabe, Tommy and their crew are surviving by hiding out in a motel- by day Gave and his crew go out on missions, leaving Gave and Tommy back at their rally point- Blake is suffering for all that he is a medic, he isn’t a doctor and with that comes all the negatives and positives that come with it.
As with the first book, everyone gets a turn to sine, with some very emotional scenes showing how PTSD and trauma affect people.
I am hoping for a spin off or another entry based on the ending, but if not it’s a great way to end the series!
